Cleaner production as explained in
the video above is a strategy of minimizing waste through different approaches
to help sustain the environment. Waste can be prevented or at least be lessen by
improving or modifying production processes, acquiring more efficient
equipment, obtaining better technology, using more environmentally friendly
materials, reusing materials, making possible by-products, and recycling
products. These are just some of the methodologies towards cleaner production.
Different
organizations have different approaches toward cleaner production concept.
Others are very efficient in adapting the concept. The challenge for companies
is to create additional profit while having good environmental performance at
the same time.
This
concept is starting to spread in the Philippines. I am looking forward to
seeing a renewed industry because of the cleaner production concept and how the
Filipino people will accept and override the challenge.
